Happy Holidays from the Friends of Choate Park!
Wishing you and your families a happy, safe and peaceful holiday season! We hope to see you all at the Santa Parade and Fireworks over Choate Pond this weekend. This wonderful event has been going on for 16 years now and is put on by private funding to the Santa Parade Committee. The Friends of Choate Park love that this event happens to take place at Choate Park so we support the event by selling conessions in the building and this year we are also selling glow sticks and light up toys. We will be stationed by the Choate Sign on 109 during the parade and then will be selling hot cocoa, warm cider, cookies, hotdogs, popcorn and more in the concessions building. Please stop by to support our efforts to revitalize Choate Park. The parade committee will also be accepting donations that night to support this wonderful seasonal event.

Rain Date for Pumpkin Walk and Water Fire at Choate Park
Touch-A-Truck was a great success today! Our biggest event yet and the wind didn't join us this time. Unfortunately we had to postpone our Pumpkin Walk tonight due to the forecasted rain and thunder showers. We are rescheduling for tomorrow night, Sunday October 26th from 6-8. To have your pumpkin be part of the display please bring it with a candle inside to the Choate tennis courts by 4:00. Pumpkins are awarded ribbons. Bring a flashlight as the walk is around the pond. There will be waterfire on the pond and it makes for a nice night to enjoy with friends and family. The event is free. Tax-free donations are welcome. Concessions are for sale in the building along with hotdogs, lightsticks and warm drinks.

Art in the Park is around the corner...
The performers are signed up, the art projects are planned, and the lists are made...We are getting ready for our 3rd Annual Art in the Park at Choate Park in Medway. The event will be held on Saturday May 31st from 10-2 with a rain date of Sunday June 1st. The performers and artists this year include Jenny the Juggler, musicians Dale Freeman, Elaine Kessler, and Ronda Matson in addition to local author and illustrator Judith Moffatt. We are doing a few things differently for Art in the Park this year. First of all we are having free admission to the park to see the performers and to come see what the artisans and crafters have for sale. Tickets will be available for sale in the tennis court for children to participate in the Art Court which will contain 10+ art activities for children in addition to face painting, tattoos and balloons for sale. We hope you can join us for the fun! If you are an artist looking to sell your wares please email us at choatefriends@yahoo.com. If you are a volunteer interested in helping at the art booths or in painting or performing in the park please email us as well. Looking forward to another art-filled day at Choate Park!
Thanks for taking care of Choate Park in honor of Earth Day!
Thanks to all the people who came to Choate Park on their first day of Spring Vacation to help clean up the park. We got a lot accomplished in 3 short hours with 30 + bags of yard waste hauled away, countless pieces of trash picked up, the gardens and grass raked and cleaned up, the playground toys washed and cleaned and the sandbox filled. Thanks to all the Girl Scout troops and their leaders and family members for all your help and efforts! As always we appreciate everything little thing you do to help! Happy Earth Day! FOCP
